The second workshop for the Subjective Atlas of Bosnia and Herzegovina was organised in the countryside. The landscape of Potočari was charged, engraved in traumatic histories – but the hills provided green perspectives, silence and an abundance of summer flowers. It was a needed space to carry and reflect on our emotions, and work together on bringing the present in perspective.
Our programme was part of the Srebrenica Youthschool organised by the Post-Conflict Research Center. We worked with a group of almost 40 local and international students and young professionals – all engaged, articulate and able to look beyond current horizons. We attended the 28th commemoration of the Srebrenica genocide, which left a deep impression on each of us. We will never forget.
Big thank you to PCRC for hosting this workshop and selecting such amazing participants, and to James Riding from Newcastle University for initiating this collaboration.
