Hugo Herrera Tobón
Hugo Herrera Tobón is a Madrid-based Colombian-Dutch designer, curator, and cultural producer known for his innovative work at the intersection of design, communication, and the arts. As a key contributor to the Subjective Atlas series, Hugo curated and co-created the Subjective Atlas of Colombia (2015), bringing personal, political, and cultural narratives to light. He was also instrumental in the creation of the Subjective Atlas of Kaunas (2022), part of the European Capital of Culture 2022 program, where his expertise in visual storytelling and cultural identity played a pivotal role.
Beyond his atlas work, Hugo’s portfolio spans editorial design, graphic identities, and curatorial projects, with a particular emphasis on craftsmanship, typography, and the subtle power of visual communication. Whether mapping diverse perspectives or crafting cultural productions, his work reflects a deep engagement with the complexities of place, identity, and community.
